The Inner Landscape

This month Gallery Egan is exhibiting The Inner Landscape, works by artist Brian Oschwald. I am just crazy for his beautiful landscape abstractions. The artist works in oils on canvas and in his own words seeks to depict “a balance of abstraction and realism, with landscape features,” he says. “It’s a personal point of view about landscape as a memory, as an interior experience as opposed to a literal record.” Oschwald begins most works in the natural surroundings of Deer Isle in Maine or the coast of Maryland and then returns to his studio in New Jersey to finish them. It is artist's ninth solo exhibition. I love the texture of the painting and how lively they are!

I especially like how the gallery has framed this piece, and how Oschwald's works are simultaneously classical and modern!

Please do go see for yourself or contact Gallery Egan with any questions! Enjoy!
