Some of our best, best friends from home are arriving today in Singapore for a quick visit and we are so excited to see them! Of course, as good hosts, we must take them to have a drink at the top of the amazing new Marina Bay Sands hotel. The hotel and casino has an infinity pool and two beautiful bars and a restaurant at 57 stories up - making for a stunning view at sunset or anytime! The price for dinner is a little steep, but a glass of wine is just perfect to take in the Singapore skyline. Just as long as you are not afraid of heights!

Tie Dye Chic

I just love the breezy tie dyed fabrics and accessories I have been spotting lately! Both in fashion and interiors, the look is so summery and fresh. Here are a few of my favorites!

Lunch in the Garden?

One of the loveliest parts of summer is getting to eat outdoors! I love the idea of a casual garden party and was so inspired by these images! I think the key is keeping the tabletop simple, especially if you have views like these. . . 

I love the mis-matched lanterns suspended from the trees, the wild flower bouquets and the vintage lace tablecloth - perfection! 

And how about these Meyer Lemon Ricotta cupcakes with White Chocolate Buttercream Frosting? I spotted them on the fabulous food blog Matt Bites and they are just so beautiful. I don't bake too often but I might have to give these a try - they sound fantastic and so perfect for an afternoon garden party! You can get the recipe here!

The Striped Sofa

I think we have all been experiencing Stripe-mania lately! In fashion, design, and accessories, stripes are everywhere this summer! They are always such a lovely accent, but what about going all the way? Is a striped sofa too much? It's certainly bold, but I say go for it!

I think some striped sofas certainly work better than others, but overall I just love the look!

Small but Stylish: A Madrid Gem!

I just love this charming renovated flat in Madrid. Pale but rich colors, light woods, and a lively mix of vintage pieces make this apartment so lovely! As the home of Beatriz Silveira, the owner of the Spanish interiors shop, Batik, the space is filled with favorite pieces from her store combined with many local flea market finds. At only 860 square feet, the apartment is compact, but the soft colors, natural light, and largely unadorned white walls give one plenty of room to breathe!
