A Spanish Cocktail of Vintage + Modern

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

I spotted this gorgeous Madrid apartment in the January issue of Elle Decor Spain! Designer Gonzalo Garcia achieved what I think is a set of beautifully warm and colorful modern interiors! I especially love the vibrant turquoise and soft rose shades. I think the title of the project "100 Anos no son nada: Un cóctel perfecto de modernidad con aire vintage", is just perfect, as it roughly translates to "100 Years is Nothing: A perfect cocktail of modernity with a vintage air."  Just dreamy! Enjoy!

The entry holds two beautiful modern works by artists Rafael Clemente and Palazuelo.

African wood sculptures contrast with a mirrored table and Paul Smith geometric carpet.

Two iconic Kubus chairs by Josef Hoffman face a modern white chaise.

The eggplant velvet sectional looks lovely against the dusty rose-beige walls!

I love this library - dining room! The brass mesh over the bookcases is great touch.

The master bedroom with a striking white lacquer desk custom designed by Garcia and an engraving by Kelly Moore.

Beautiful simplicity of an all oak kitchen!

I adore the antique carpet dyed turquoise, by Becara, and those fantastic ceramic orbs by Alcon Sea

The mirror coffee table is so beautiful and would add so much to a living room.
