Spring Color Combo: Pastel Peach, Mint + Lavender

Thursday, March 8, 2012

I am so inspired by this lovely spring color palette by designer Phillip Lim. For me, warm peach, cool lavender and the palest mint green are a brilliant combination. I love how he tempered the sweetness of the looks with clean silhouettes and a few dark accessories.

Now for some interiors inspiration, and a beautiful color combo to usher in spring time at home . . .

So etherial and calming and yet so warm.
I love it . . . now to find some pastel fashion pieces for Spring!

Modern Tropical Style: Singapore's Sun House

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

I love the architecture, textures and pure tropical style of the Sun House in Singapore, designed by Guz Architects. The open and airy floor plan is so ideal for the steamy weather here and the organic materials and shapes give the space so much warmth. And this pool, I am swooning! Now just to figure out how to get myself an invite to experience it in person. . .

Love or Loathe? Ikat Sofas

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Ikat textiles have been known since ancient times, but recently they have become a huge trend in decor and fashion. I know they are a fad, but I simply don't care! I love the vibrant, ethnic and playful pattern these fabrics bring. I have often used ikat pillows or accents in a room, but never done a whole sofa. I think the key is to be bold and pair it with other patterns in a smaller scale.

Do you love it or loathe it?
What is your vote!

Trend Alert: Map it Out!

Monday, March 5, 2012

I love all the maps I am spotting everywhere in decor lately! I have always has a fascination with maps ever since my sister and I used to spend hours drawing them in sidewalk chalk and now, living oh so far away in Singapore, I love looking at them more than ever.  Maps are chic and often very affordable wall decor and I love the graphic element they bring. They can work in spaces from a sophisticated entry to a funky children's room to a beachy bedroom so don't hold back . . .

I really love the faded, worn look of vintage maps and the monochromatic punch of this indigo and white one. There are often great finds at garage sales or on Etsy so keep your eyes open . . . or try this great source!
