Growing up I adored my bed, it was a queen size 4 post bed painted in pastel hues, and I always felt like a grown up princess! I still love the architecture and drama canopy beds lend - but now with a decidedly more modern feel. Far from fussy, these streamlined beds can look amazing in contemporary or eclectic spaces and provide a structural element to balance the other soft elements of a bedroom. Here is some modern canopy inspiration and a retail round up of my favorites (just in case you are looking!).

Singapore Design: Cuscaden Walk

Happy Monday everyone! Today I wanted to share a little project I completed a while back here in Singapore. As usual my love affair with blues + neutrals runs deep, but in this case it was so fun to add a hit of rich orange and terra cotta to balance it all out. The color scheme was inspired by a vibrant paining the client had purchased in Vietnam. The room was very large and felt quite cold, with white marble floors and walls of windows. So I relied on lots of small scale patterns and uniquely textured textiles to warm up the space. My lovely client had relocated from Tokyo so we also had a few very pretty antique pieces to work with. Overall, I love the sophisticated, welcoming vibe we achieved! Any details you love?

Textile selections in process. . . I love my client's sweet little dog guarding his new rug :)

Wet Winter Vibes: Cozy Window Nooks

Happy January Everyone! With a crazy cold snap in the States, and cold, wet weather even here in Singapore (10 days of straight rain and a high of 77 degrees today, which I have never seen!) all I can think about is settling into a cozy nook with a good book. Last night my little guy and I baked cookies and watched the rain falling on the pool (I know, so Singapore!). Here are few inspirations for cozy window nooks! In addition for making use of tight spaces, window seats also offer instant architecture.
