Faux Bois Wallpaper

Now, I know at first thought, faux wood paneled wall covering might seem like something you might find in a basement circa 1970 but it is making a design comeback in a big way! As opposed to the cost and carpentry skills needed to install real wood paneling, wall paper is an easy and less permanent way to add texture and warmth to a room. Many companies make faux wood grained wall covering but I think the French house, Nobilis, does the very best one!
I adore this cozy family room designed by Tom Scheerer for his update of an 18th century Long Island farmhouse. He chose to run the fax wood planks horizontally which was a great idea! I think this room captures the traditional feel of the home while still feeling fresh and modern.
